Buying a condo in the Caribbean can be very expensive, and largely depends where you want to buy it. The U.S. Virgin Islands are a popular option for Americans, largely because of the benefits of living under the American flag with a warmer climate and totally different lifestyle. If you want to purchase a small condo in the U.S. Virgin Islands you can expect to pay from $200,000 upwards. Buying a house on the other hand will set you back not much less than $1 million at a minimum. In Barbados the median price for a Caribbean condo is $566,000 – however you can purchase a home for much less and significantly more if you look around. 
 

If you want to purchase a condo in Puerto Rico, you can get one for as little as $90,000 on one of the more isolated islands. If you want to be on the main island in a beachside location you can expect to pay a minimum of $200,000. 


 

Renting a Caribbean Condo

Not all of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford our own Caribbean condo – or perhaps we are just not ready to make that commitment. Renting a Caribbean condo is a great option and a perfect alternative to staying in a hotel during your next holiday to the Caribbean. Prices vary depending on the location and size of the condo, with beachside locations on popular islands the most expensive – and more secluded destinations and non-beachside condos the cheapest.
